While it’s more and more popular to share some videos and music online, security experts warns that this can be used to infect computers. According to this article, a malicious code can be ‘inserted’ into media and streamed to the one that wants to view or listen it. It’s the big threat because online media is a common thing; people own videoblogs, put some music on their MySpace page and they usually don’t suspect that others can use the same things to ruin computers.
The only prevention is to avoid anything unknown. It doesn’t mean that all the websites online can infect your computer, however if you are not sure if a website is reputable or not, it better to run no risk.
